Grand Slam Reading Jam

The San Angelo Colts and the Concho Valley Partnership partnered in 2005 to conduct the Grand Slam Reading Jam. The Grand Slam Reading Jam rewards students with a ticket to a San Angelo Colts Baseball Game and special recognition at the game. The San Angelo Colts Booster Club received a grant from the Verizon Yellowpages to operate the program in 2005 and 2006. This grant was utilized to purchase rewards for the students. From 2007 to present, the Partnership and the Colts have operated the program without grant funds. Approximately 5000 students have been rewarded for reading through the program.
